Tonight we had a bit of a St. Patrick’s Day special. Jenny joined us on the phone to talk about St. Patrick’s Day when she was a girl in Ireland. Lu e-mailed in from Dublin to tell us about what was planned. Lee in the chat room begged me not to to play any Val Doonican, and I listened! We stuck with The Corrs and Van Morrison. Michael’s choice for D.I.D. was Albatross from Fleetwood Mac. We also heard from Trucks in California, Adriene in the Isle of Wight, Jon and Jane in Stock and Bob and Chris in Harlow. We had many odd news stories and much reaction to everything in a busy chat room. Our classic T.V. theme was Rockford Files, again recognised very quickly. Music tonight included tracks from Norman Greenboum, Adele, Chicago, Elvis Presley, America, Biily J. Kramer, Katie Mellua, Booker T. Jones, Santana, Genesis, Coldplay, Bruce Springsteen and a whole lot more, much chosen by listeners via e-mail. Next week is my last Late Night Exta before I move on 30th of March to 8-10 with a new show, Relax, it is Friday evening! And look out for our special on Good Friday evening with a show called, What is Good Friday?, when I will be joined by studio guests and the Bishop of Chelmsford on the phone.
