What an evening! To mark the 70th anniversary of Desert Island Discs I asked for e-mails of the one track you could not manage without, a book and a luxury. The feature took up well over half the show! Thanks to all those who e-mailed in. Alison, Bob, Chris, Mark, Lee C, Lee W, Rene, Sarah and Sian. We had selections incuding tracks from Santana, Led Zeppelin, Kylie, Gerry and the Pacemakers, Moody Blues, New Order, Ronan Keeting, Toto and others. I chose a track by Argent. During the week Michael requested Katie Melua. For our regular competition Lee C recognised the incidental music from Miami Vice, which I thought would be impossible. We only had time for two news stories. In total 31 e-mails were sent to the show tonight and we had the company of Jason in Ireland in the Chatroom. I need to lay down in a darkened room to get my strength back for the next exciting installment of Late Night Extra.
