Happy New Year. After the Christmas specials it was back to business as usual. The show was dedicated tonight to the memory of Bob Holness, who was one of the team of the presenters on Late Night Extra on Radios 1 & 2 in the late 60s and early 70s. Our classic t.v. theme competition tonight was Star Trek Voyager, with correct answers from both Lee and Phyl. Lee also sent in hs favourite tack and album of 2011. You could do the same by leaving info at the bottom of this blog. The Damned were played for Lee. Our Friday night mix had contemporary tracks from Adele, Aloe Blac, Land Antebellum, Coldpay, The Box Cars, Jamie Cullum and the Sachal Studio Orchestra. Classic tracks were from Sade, Sam Cooke, Amen Corner, Elvis Costello, The Beach Boys and Louis Armstrong. News stories included why Christmas trees can make you feel ill and the Police in Albany Georgia collecting fines from those wearing low slung trousers exposing undergarments!
