Tonight Peter Thomas from Harvest Plus told us about the amazing response from the people of Essex to this year’s appeal. Over a 100 schools, including Ingatestone C of E Juiniors took part in the appeal, together with 37 churches and 29 businesses. 26 tonnes of food was collected and two lorries had left for Bulgaria.
The music mix was as wide as ever. Kevin in Hutton requested Whitesnake. Sue in Brentwood won the classic TV theme competition which was Cagney and Lacey. The mix included bluegrass from the Boxcars latest album only released in the USA, Jeff Beck, Miles Davis, Adel, The Temptations, Jamie Cullum, The Beach Boys, Lady Antebellum, Caro Emerald, Elton John, Coldplay, Moby and many more. And we looked at some rather odd stories, including somone who sent to Hong Kong for a pair of claw slippers and when they arrived one was 7 foot long!
