On Today’s In The Mix I played out all the interviews I had at The Music Crowns Festival last Saturday.
Music Crowns is an online music competition with three winners in the categories Pop, Rock and Urban. For the first time ever a two day Festival was organized which gave the bands taking part in the competition, a new platform to perform on.
There were a few celebrities headlining the event such as Stacey Solomon, Fugative, Egypt, Missing Andy, Skepta, The Milk, The Rifles, Mutya Buena and Toploader.
I went along on the Saturday and managed to get a few pictures and interviews which can be seen below…
Duo Dan and Steve from Essex Entertainment had the very important role of introducing the acts, so I had a talk with them about who had been their favourites.
Victor from Big Brother was there too, with friend and presenter Johny Pach. We talked about his time in the Big Brother house and of course the up coming new series.
Talented, 17 year old Fugative was the last to perform on the Saturday night. During the day I caught up with Flash, who was singing with Fugative and here is what he had to say…
Ten minutes before they went on stage I had a chat to Fugative himself and he talked about his two new, upcoming singles.
Even though the celeb’s did all the headlining, the main reason for the event was the artists taking part in the competition A rapper called Clapz was in the Urban category and he talked about why he entered the Music Crowns.
Birmingham Rapper Leo Levox won last years Urban Crown and his advice for this year competitors was to ‘Be nice’.
Sunday Lunch presenter Tony Smith also came to the Music Crowns Festival and he got some interviews with Local Bands The Filthy Habits and The Suburbians as well as with Dance singer Egypt and Indie band Missing Andy.
These can be listened back to on his blog via this link https://www.phoenixfm.com/2011/08/16/music-crowns-festival-weald-park-2011/
X-Factor Star Stacey Solomon also covered five songs and sang them beautifully, however she was a pushed for time so unfortunately we was unable to get an interview with her but we did get some pictures!
I had a really good day at the festival and was happy to meet all the variety of people that I did and Don’t forget to look out for next years Music Crown’s competition!
Even though this week’s In The Mix was mainly focused on the festival I also managed to squeeze in two bit’s of celeb gossip too!…

Cheryl Cole In Film
A star studded movie based on the best selling pregnancy bible called ‘What To Expect When You’re Expecting’ is due to come out next year.
The story line is about six different couples who are each preparing to welcome a child. The movie follows them up to the delivery of their babies.
Actors and Actress’ with roles in the film include Cameron Diaz, Chris Rock, Isla Fisher and Elizabeth Banks. Hip hop Star J-LO will also appear.
Popstar, Cheryl Cole, who has had a bit of a downer in her career lately is said to be in “advanced talks” to be a character in this film too. It is possible she may be taking the role of a talent show judge who assesses Diaz’s character. A source has said “This is a bit of fun for Cheryl. She will film the scenes imminently and is really looking forward to it,”
So does this mean Cheryl has turned to acting? Maybe not as the source carries on to explain “It doesn’t mean she suddenly wants to become an actress. It was just an opportunity that has come up while she has been having some downtime and she thought it would be great fun to take part.”
‘What to Expect When You’re Expecting’ is due to be released on May 11, 2012.
