This ex-Suffolk London-based trio have been playing together for quite a while through various outlets including Stuffy and the Fuses and Graham Coxon’s backing band.
The recorded output is a beguiling mix of indie, electro and shoegaze although we got the stripped down version tonight – two voices, two guitars and a cello, which wasn’t as big as I thought it was going to be.
The band played three songs for us and you can see two of them, and hear the third one below. (This is why I really need an assistant on the show).
Audio for second song: Say
I resisted the temptation to ask what it was exactly that begins with L; some things are really left best unspoken.
You can buy the excellent debut album “Beautiful Ground”, out now on Armellodie Records, from somethingbeginningwithl.bandcamp.com/releases. You can find more about the band on their official website or Facebook, or follow them on Twitter @SBLBand.
