The Border collie cross was the programme’s first rescue dog and she was the second longest serving dog on Blue Peter.  She originally featured on the programme when then presenter Katy Hill was making a film about the RSPCA in 1996 she then joined the team a month later. Mabel’s name came from the letters MAB1 which were written on her RSPCA kennel.
Mabel starred alongside 14 different presenters including current presenter Helen Skelton who has said “I’m proud to have worked alongside such an iconic Blue Peter dog. She was dearly loved and that’s a credit to her quirky character. She’ll be sorely missed by the presenters and viewers alike.”

Rihanna reportedly went on a date with Usher this week.
There has been talk that there might be a little romance going on between two of the most popular people in music at the moment.

Rihanna and Usher spent some time together at the Coachelle music festival in LA and then saw each other in New York shortly after.
A source close to Usher has said “They had a really good time together last weekend and wanted to see each other again somewhere private straight after. They’ve known each other for a long time but it’s always been bad timing. They’ve had a few long, passionate kisses. There’s definitely a spark between them. It would have been too obvious to go somewhere in LA and they were both going back to New York for work commitments.”

Usher has said in the past that he would like to work with Riannah by saying “Of course I’d do a track with her – hold on! We’ve been friends and our teams work together and we’ve talked about working together in the past, but it could potentially happen.

“I would love to work with her – I think she’s an incredible artist.’
