Live and Unsigned

Last night I went to the regional finals of a competition called Live and Unsigned in Basildon and got a few interviews with the acts…however you might we wondering what is Live and Unsigned?

Live and Unsigned is the largest national music competition for unsigned original musicians and bands. Over the past three years there have been 10,000 entries, 85 auditions and they have toured 18 regions.

The auditions took place in front of a judging panel who also are at all the other stages as well. There are some celeb judges too such as Noddy Holder from Slade, R&B artist Shola Ama, singer Dane Bowers and many more.
The artists that got through the audtions then perform again infront of the public and people from, Kerrang, BBC Introducing, Regional Press & record labels at the Regional Finals which take place as numerous venues around the UK.
The finalists of that go through to play Iin the National Grand Final which is the Live and Unsigned festival which is held at the O2 arena in London.

There are over £100,000 in prizes up for grabs along the way with the winner offered a comprehensive winners package which includes; festival slots, a UK tour exposing their music to over 40,000 people and a music management recording contract.

Guest acts perform at each of the regional finals are the act playing in Basildon were Missing Andy. I had a little talk with them in their dressing room, before they performed and this is what they said!…
