the old house

Joined in the studio by Mike Le Surf to talk about plans to sell The Old House, Brentwood. Join the March this evening!

On Tuesday night councillors will be voting to decide whether: “the Head of Paid Service be granted delegated authority to dispose of the Old House”

OLD HOUSE is OUR HOUSE!

Tuesday 30th June Meet 6.30pm Old House Car Park (Ongar Road) March to Town Hall for meeting in council chamber at 7pm.

Bring banners and loud voices! Make your voice heard!

Town centre councillor Julie Morrissey (mobile 07957 353910) said: ” We marched against the Tories to save the Town Hall in 2011 and we are calling on residents again to march to the town hall on Tuesday evening and stop the sell-off of one of our treasured buildings. W saved the Town Hall and we will try our best to save Old House.”

Weald Road resident Mike Le-Surf (mobile 07958 015048) said: “Once again the Brentwood Tories have shown complete contempt for the borough’s residents. I was born and raised in this town and am sick to death of the Conservatives trying to sell off our history and our heritage. Short-term scummy economics seems to be the mantra of this pathetic administration.”

“It is felt by many residents that the Tories use the town centre as a “cash-cow” to fund pet projects in other areas.  A few years ago the Conservatives changed to remit of the Assizes Trust Fund so that money promised specifically for Brentwood town centre could be used in Shenfield and Hutton. An absolute disgrace.”
