Playlist for 5 April 2012 (AOTW: Surfquake – Surf And Destroy)

Better late than never but I’ve finally made Surf And Destroy by Colchester suf-rock wizards Surfquake my album of the week. I caught the band live at Chinnery’s a couple of years ago, got hold of the demos of some early tracks, but the album release is much more polished and contains a great mix of original material and surf classics. And THEREMINS!

Eagle-eyed nerds like me may notice that the artwork has been created by the legendary Kevin O’Neill of 2000AD fame (and probably other stuff, but if you were around in 2000AD’s 70s/80s heyday, you’re a legend). Visit the band’s website to buy the album.
