Romford ran out as 3-0 winners over Great Wakering Rovers in the Isuzu FA Vase final at Wembley Stadium, the first time an Essex side have won the competition since 1984.
Following an uneventful opening period, Hassan Nalbant gave the Boro the lead as he calmly slotted into the corner seven minutes into the second-half before ex-Billericay Town and Brentwood Town midfielder Sam Deering doubled their advantage moments later.
Nalbant scored his brace in the closing stages to seal Dan Spinks’ side’s first-ever FA Vase.
Both occupants of the Essex Senior League, Romford were beaten 3-1 by Sporting Bengal in the play-off final on Monday while Rovers narrowly missed out on a play-off place as they finished in sixth place.
