A man borne again

Yesterday we had a story about a very unusual funeral and today we reported on a young guy whose family had been told of his death, only for him to be found very much alive!

Last September 23-year old Tyler Chase was living in a recovery program after struggling for many months with substance abuse.

For whatever reason he hadn’t been in contact with his family for the years he’d been roaming he streets.

After discovering that his food assistance benefits were no longer active, he contacted the DEPARTMENT OF HUMAN SEREVICES, who told him that it was because he was dead!

A bit of a shocking revelation that, I would think.

Upon producing his ID, there was much “shuffling of feet.”

Turns out, a man was found dead back in September with Chase’s wallet and temporary driver’s license on him – which bears his name but no photo.

Nevertheless the local medical office identified the man as Chase, notified his family, cremated the man and sent his ashes off to Chase’s family.

It’s now thought that the deceased individual had stolen the wallet from the addiction recovery centre.

As you can imagine it’s all a bit of a shocker for Chase’s family.

Later in today’s programme I was joined once again by Margaret Mills who told us all about a Dr Salter from Tolleshunt D’arcy.

Dr Salter seems to have been a somewhat colourful individual who kept a stuffed bear in his house that he’d apparently shot whilst travelling in Russia.

It seems that he was quite a good shot in spite of losing the sight in one eye in somewhat unexplained circumstances.
