Local non-league sides were in Isuzu FA Trophy action as a number of games were called off due to the adverse weather conditions.

Southend United were defeated by Vanarama National League South high-flyers Hampton & Richmond Borough on penalties. A Gus Scott-Morris own-goal meant the tie went to penalties after Nathan Ralph and Jack Bridge gave the Shrimpers a two-goal lead. After Wes Fonguck’s spot kick was saved, it meant Kevin Maher’s side fell at the first hurdle.

Dagenham & Redbridge also suffered the same fate as they lost to Peterborough Sports 4-2 on penalties following a 1-1 draw.

Aveley had a very eventful 8-7 penalty shootout win over Hungerford Town after a 1-1 draw at Bulpit Lane.

Chelmsford City made the trip to Oxford City and the Clarets ran out as 1-0 winners thanks to Callum Watts’ second-half strike.

Billericay Town’s trip to Wealdstone was called off this morning due to a waterlogged pitch with the tie now taking place on Tuesday 12th December.

Canvey Island, Concord Rangers and Hashtag United all had their Isthmian Premier Division games against Folkestone Invicta, Cheshunt and Potters Bar Town respectively called off.

In the Isthmian North Division, Bowers & Pitsea secured a 3-2 win over Wroxham after Matthew Price’s late winner and the spoils were shared between Heybridge Swifts and Basildon United in a 1-1 draw.

Brentwood were set to lock horns with Lowestoft Town, Brightlingsea Regent were meant to be making the trip to Gorleston and Grays Athletic should have been travelling to Ipswich Wanderers. However, all of those games were called off.
