Several local non-league games fell foul to the frosty conditions today but Aveley, Chelmsford City, Billericay Town, Hashtag United, Canvey Island, Concord Rangers, Brentwood Town and Bowers & Pitsea were all in action.

Southend United had their Vanarama National League clash with Wealdstone called off due to a frozen pitch this morning while Dagenham & Redbridge were also not in action.

In the National League South, Aveley fell to a 4-3 defeat to Farnborough despite leading 3-1. Goals in the final 13 minutes from Aaron Kuhl, CJ Fearn and Selim Saied ensured Spencer Day’s side headed back to Hampshire with three points.

Chelmsford made the long trip to Somerset to visit Bath City and they ran out as 3-2 victors after being reduced to ten men following Jazzi Barnum-Bobb’s dismisal in the first-half.

Braintree Town’s match at home against Weymouth was called off yesterday due to a frozen pitch.

Billericay were unable to maintain their good run of form in the Isthmian Premier Division as they fell to a 2-1 defeat to fellow promotion-hopefuls Wingate & Finchley. Elliot Long netted 19 minutes from time so Gary McCann’s side now slip down to fourth place.

Hashtag United took local bragging rights with a 3-1 victory over Canvey Island courtesy of goals from Toby Aromolaran, Percy Kiangebeni and Misha Djemaili.

Concord Rangers picked up only their second win this term with an emphatic 4-1 win over Lewes and nothing split Hornchurch and Whitehawk in a 0-0 draw.

The two games in the Isthmian North Division saw Brentwood Town fall to a 2-0 away defeat at Brightlingsea Regent and Bowers & Pitsea secured a 2-1 victory over Walthamstow after a brace from Matthew Price.
