Well here we are at the start of yet another week and on today’s show we reported on a couple of burglars who took the unusual step of calling the police to help them shift their ill gotten gains out of the house they were robbing and even more hopefully hitching a ride to the airport.
Unbelievable but totally true!
You really do have to wonder about the mindset of some people.
Yes, the couple from Florida actually called police to ask for their help in moving the material out of the house they were burgling, and then pushing their luck still further asked if there was any chance of them being given a lift to the airport as they wanted to spend the weekend in New York.
Even crazier was that police had been searching for one of the couple after he’d been caught on a CCTV security camera whilst burgling a Dollar General Store earlier the same day!
The man was charged with burglary and theft related to the store and also burglary of a residence and the woman was charged with burglary of a residence.
The police did give them a ride but not to the airport, but the local jail instead where they were welcome to stay all weekend long.
Then just when you think you’ve heard it all, in the second hour we rejoiced in a story that just about caps everything!
A Catholic priest, Marko Ivan Rupnik, now aged 68 has been accused of twice taking a nun to watch pornographic movies and then pressurising her to join forces with another nun to create a Holy Trinity threesome!
This is all said to have taken place between 1987 and 1994, but the nun’s accusations at the time against Father Rupnik, who was then a spiritual director at a convent in Slovenia, were swept under the carpet.
The former nun claims that “Father Marko started slowly and sweetly getting inside my psychological and spiritual world, exploiting my uncertainties and fragility and using my relationship with God, and then later in 1992, while I was in my fourth year of philosophy at the Gregorian, he took me twice to see pornographic films in Rome.”
The priest who is allegedly close to the Pope, is well-known for his religious artwork, which is displayed around the world and gained him a large following within the Catholic community, but was apparently excommunicated in May 2020 for using confession to absolve a woman for having sex with him, but the excommunication was lifted the same month when Father Rupnik repented.
It had been claimed that Father Rupnik had been limited in his ability to practice, having been banned from hearing confessions, delivering mass and giving spiritual guidance, however there is evidence to the contrary as it seems that the apparent group sex fan will deliver spiritual exercises between 13 and 17 of February 2023 at the Loreto Marian shrine in Italy.
Father Rupnik’s immediate superior, the Rev. Johan Verschueren, said on Sunday (18 December) that he wants to get to the bottom of the slew of misconduct allegations.
Surely that must be an all time classic.
