Where on earth can I park?

On today’s show we heard the sorry story of the woman in Stuttgart who triumphantly swooped into what she thought was a parking space in a multi-story car park, only to discover that it wasn’t.

It was something else entirely – a lift opening!

Consequently she hurtled down a 10m drop ending upside down on top of the lift.

Fortunately she was able to free herself and used her cell phone to summon assistance.

Two firefighters then abseiled down the lift shaft, strapping the driver to a stretcher as they rescued her.

The lift was then taken out of service and specialists were called in to haul her smashed Smart car to the service.

Perhaps being a SMART car, it was smarter than its driver – but it was anything but smart after being retrieved.

I wonder what she put on her insurance claim!

Being a Tuesday I was once again joined by Billericay’s star historian, MARGARET MILLS who this week turned the clock back to the days when smugglers abounded along the coastlines of our county.

Listen here to what Margaret had to say on this subject: –

I very much look forward to having your company again next week,
