It was great to chat to Carl Mann and Simon ‘Syd’ Oxlee from Maidstone band The Shop Window.
Carl and Syd’s musical history goes way back to Britpop band Westpier, who were signed to Indolent Records in the 1990s.
After Westpier folded, Carl ended up depping on guitar for Sleeper, and also ended up playing guitar and writing for Kylie Minogue for TV performances, gigs and a tour of Australia.
The duo have now teamed up with old friends Martin Corder (bass) and Phil Elphee (drums) and completed their debut album, The State Of Being Human, under The Shop Window name.
There’s much more planned for 2022 too! You can keep an eye on what’s happening by following them on social media – all the links are on their Linktree.
