Been Bad For Me getting new lease of life

We featured Jerry Impini in one our artist features back in March 2020 – you can still read that here. We caught up Jerry again to find out about his latest remix.

Hi Jerry! You’ve been keeping busy since we last spoke?

Hi – yes, I’ve been remixing one of my recent tracks, Been Bad For Me.

Been Bad For Me is in the “dueling or double piano rock” style, what can you tell us about that?

“Dueling or double piano rock” is a new genre I created – what we have is a double-handed rhythm piano stem, plus a double-handed lead piano stem, both playing simultaneously on the same track.

The track was heard by Stuart Epps – what did he think of it?

He loved it! Stuart is a record producer and audio engineer who has worked with Elton John, Led Zeppelin, Oasis, Bad Company, Twisted Sister, Bill Wyman, George Harrison, Robbie Williams, Paul Weller, Cliff Richard and many other great artists.

What did Stuart add to it?

The Stuart Epps remix version includes new parts that were added to the track from Stu’s recording studio in London.

Stu provided backing vocals on the remix version. During the sessions he mentioned that his backing vocals can be heard on some of the older classic Elton John records, so I am in great company.

When will the new remix be getting an official release?

The brand new extended version is released today, September 18.

“Invite Only” Sony music label division AWAL has a press release that will be appearing nationwide in the US at Barnes and Noble bookstores and nationwide at select bookstores and news stands in the UK too.

Has anyone else picked up on it?

The October/November issue of Pianist Magazine is actually the Press Release Sony/AWAL has going out nationwide at Barnes & Noble Bookstores and in select bookstores in the U.K. too. It’s a great music publication which, like Phoenix FM, is growing by leaps and bounds! Music Connection has also picked up coverage on the release as well.

Is the track also available on Bandcamp and streaming services?

Yes – you can preview it on Bandcamp here.

You can also hear it on Spotify here.
