The Essex Community Foundation has announced that, as at their year end on 30 June, they have awarded grants totalling over £4.8 million to 436 organisations and 97 individuals.
This is a 30% increase on the amount awarded last year and was made possible, in part, thanks to the incredible response received from local people and businesses who generously supported their Essex Coronavirus Response and Recovery Programme, as well as funding from national partners.
Of the total amount awarded, £1.7 million was paid from this Programme between 25 March and 30 June. The agility of organisations to quickly adapt their services during the pandemic and continue to meet the needs of their beneficiaries, was inspiring and set the pace for the ECF’s response.
The Foundation says that they will continue to provide grants from our Coronavirus Programme, but also manage 160 other funds through which they can support a wide range of voluntary and community organisations, activities and projects in local communities.
