You can play catch-up to get inside track on soapbox derby

Paul Golder writes for the Brentwood Gazette

The Rotary Club of Billericay’s Soapbox Derby will return to Billericay on our next bank holiday, Monday 6th May.

It’s been a fantastic success for the club over the last three years, with 10,000 people in attendance at last year’s event.

We welcomed event organisers Trevor Bond and Mike Sinclair into the studio to talk to our lunchtime host Bob Simpson about what people can expect this year.

Trevor and Mike talked about how it all works and what’s new this year. You can hear their interview again on our website at phoenixfm.com.

It’s an amazing and fun-packed day out for all the family and one of the many events put on by hard-working volunteers in our community which I hope will continue to get everyone’s support.

** Lots more interviews coming up over the next week. Anita McCarthy from Saint Francis Hospice will be talking to Ian Leigh about the Hospice’s latest fundraising and events on Drive, and Paul Roberts from the Christian Motorcyclists Association will be chatting with Patrick Sherring on Friday Night Extra.

** There will also be live music in the studio from Political Hesitation, Ellie Mead and Ben Page.
