Lakeside Speedway – SUNDAY PREVIEW

Arena Essex

The latest from the Lakeside Speedway Press Office…

TEENAGE ace Jack Parkinson-Blackburn is looking forward to linking up with Lakeside team manager Kelvin Tatum when he guests for the Hammers on Sunday.

The 16-year-old stands in for injured No.1 Zach Wajtknecht in the big Travel Plus National League fixture at home to rivals Eastbourne (3pm).

And after racing for Birmingham at The Arena-Essex Raceway last week, Parkinson-Blackburn is relishing the chance to be back so soon.

He said: “To score 9+1 in my first meeting wasn’t too bad in the end but it was definitely a good night for learning.

“I’m happy to be back so soon and hopefully I can show I’m a quick learner by scoring some points for Lakeside – and hopefully getting at least one race win!

“Kelvin was at the Speedway Grand Prix Academy at Cardiff that I was involved in the other weekend.

“He was great with all of the riders and it was good to hear a few pieces of advice and get a few tips from someone like him.

I’m sure I’ll learn even more from him while I’m one of his riders for the day and I’m looking forward to it.”

LAKESIDE: Jack Parkinson-Blackburn, Nick Laurence, Paul Hurry, Alfie Bowtell, Ben Morley, Jamie Couzins, Connor Locke.
EASTBOURNE: Jake Knight, Charley Powell R/R, Mark Baseby, Tom Brennan, Georgie Wood, Macauley Leek, Matt Bates.
