Saint Francis Hospice’s new OrangeLine has launched with new patron Imogen Heap playing at a very special ceremony in Havering-atte-Bower.
Imogen, who recorded a live session for Phoenix FM back in 2011, performed four songs for hospice staff, carers and patients.
Paul Golder spoke to Imogen about her role at the hospice and also a little about what she’s up to musically at the moment. He also chatted to the hospice’s Director of Quality and Care, Tess Smith, about the impact that OrangeLine will have on service users and also about Imogen’s support of their work.
OrangeLine is Saint Francis Hospice’s new free telephone service. It is aimed at local people who are suffering or caring for someone with a life-limiting illness, or have been recently discharged or bereaved, or just in need of a friendly conversation. It’s confidential and managed by specially trained staff and volunteers who are dedicated to the caller’s wellbeing.
