Who’s Been Banned From Going Over Seas?!

Being in the limelight can get celebrities in a lot of trouble and even get them banned from other countries! From assaulting and offending citizens, to protecting the citizens from corruption of naughty lyrics and dance moves, lets take a look at what singers are banned from what countries and why.

Lady Gaga

Why? Authorises are worried that her ‘sexy clothes’ and dance moves would corrupt the nation’s youth.

Where? China
Why? For having a meeting with the Dalai Lama. She put a video on her Facebook of her discussing yoga with him and the Chinese government didn’t like her spending time with the exiled Tibetan leader.

Selena Gomez

Selena GomezWhere? China
Why? Instagram got Selena in trouble with China in 2014 when she revealed she had also met with the Dalai Lama. The caption said “Words of wisdom. #speechless.”

Why? Are we surprised he is on the list? When he went through his bad phase he allegedly assaulted a photographer while in the country and therefore there is a warrant for his arrest and would go straight to jail if he steps foot in the country!

China also banned any Miley merchandize, Hannah Montana shows and any other films she appears in for fear of polluting their children’s minds with her ignorance.

Because her shows sees her “undertake acts that go against morals and customs, which are punishable by Dominican law.”

Why? Due to an incident in Heathrow airport in 2006 where he was involved in a mass brawl where police officers were injured! But the ban was lifted in 2010.

Because of his past convictions which include five years probation and 800 hours’ community service for behaving badly Australia denied him entry in 2007. The ban was lifted however in 2014 in order for him to headline a festival.

Why?
She has been banned for life for being racially offensive in 2006 when posing in a picture by pulling her eyes into an offensive Asian stereotype. China also banned any Miley merchandize, Hannah Montana shows and any other films she appears in for fear of polluting their children’s minds with her ignorance.

Where? Dominican Republic
Why?
Because her shows sees her “undertake acts that go against morals and customs, which are punishable by Dominican law.”

Why? Due to an incident in Heathrow airport in 2006 where he was involved in a mass brawl where police officers were injured! But the ban was lifted in 2010.

Why?
Because of his past convictions which include five years probation and 800 hours’ community service for behaving badly Australia denied him entry in 2007. The ban was lifted however in 2014 in order for him to headline a festival.
Norway banned him from visiting for two years in 2012 for the same reasons.

Why? Though he was due to perform 7 gigs in Canada, he was banned in 2005 over fears his lyrics and “lifestyle” would promote gangland behaviour and violence.

Why? The music video to his track Sexy Chick was the reason he was banned in 2010. Featuring a Budda in the video, it caused riots in the capital from some of the religious people. Akon was very understanding though saying that he is “a spiritual man, so [he] can understand why they are offended.”

Why? Because of her arrest in Norway in 2007 for the possession of drugs, she was then banned from the US and missed the Grammy’s in 2008 where she won 8 awards!
