Last year there was a That Friday Feeling dedicated to tours that were upcoming in 2015. Tonight’s theme was very similar but for 2016 and also included artists who had toured at the beginning of the year as as well as singers who are currently on tour.
Let’s start in chronological order shall we, looking back at past tours this year, before being excited about currently tours and ending with tours we are going to have to wait for near the end of the year!
Lil Wayne
Lil Wayne went on a ‘Dedication Tour’ in the US at the beginning of the year, which was ‘a personal thank you to all of his fans in cities he has rarely visited on his past tours’.
Carly Rae Jepson
Carly Rae Depson finished her Gimmie Love Tour at the beginning of last month in Japan, which was her second tour in support of her album Emotion, released last year.
Little Mix
The girls started off their The Get Weird Tour in Wales back in March and will be gigging until the End of August. They spend most of their time in England with a few dates in other countries in Europe and Asia.
Ellie Goulding
Ellie Goulding is currently on a tour supporting her 3rd studio album Delirium. It started in January right at the beginning of the year and will be ending in October in Australia. Ellie had support from Years and Years who was an opening act for Ellie while in America. She did some dates in England back in March but will return in June!
Coldplay
Kicking of this week in France, Coldplay are going on Tour in support of their 7th studio album, A Head Full of Dreams. They then head to the UK for a few dates at the beginning of June but then return on the 15th to do 4 performances at Wembley Stadium! Then of course on the 26th they are headlining Glastonbury!
Adele
Adele also includes Glastonbury on her Tour schedule which she is currently on. It is simply entitled Adele Live 2016 and it’s her 3rd tour and in support of her current album 25.
Charlie Puth
Charlie Puth is in the UK tonight and for the next 3 nights on his first ever tour supporting his debut album Nine Track Mind. It’s a world tour finishing in Japan in August and he is fitting in to be a supporting act for Selena Gomez in America in July.
Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez’s Revival Tour began in Las Vegas two weeks ago, and runs all the way to the end of the year. However us Brit’s have a while to wait until we can see her as she doesn’t come to the UK until November! And she’s only doing 4 dates in England and one in Ireland so if you want to see her you better get your tickets quick!
Justin Bieber
Bieber is currently on tour in support of his most recent album, Purpose. With the world wide tour having the same title, it started in America and with the increasing growth of his popularity and the sold out dates, this tour is going to be very successful! He comes to the UK to perform at The V Festival as part of his tour and then returns to England in October!
Rihanna
Of Course Rihanna will be also headlining the Sunday night at The V Festival, as part of her current and very eagerly anticipated world tour, Anti.
Lukas Graham
With their next 4 dates in the UK sold out Lukas Graham aren’t doing bad on their tour! Two other dates in Germany have also sold out and with a date including Wembley Stadium they have sights set high! And why shouldn’t they, everyone is loving their No.1 track 7 Years!
Cyndi Lauper
If you love your girlie, cheesy pop then you won’t want to miss Cyndi Lauper on tour! Yes this 80’s artist is still making music, and is going on her 13th tour to support her current and 11th studio album called Detour. With the album having more of a country feel, let’s hope she still performs her classics because girls just want to have fun!
Busted
It seems as pig’s can fly as Busted have got back together after 12 years! Kicking off last week at Wembley Arena, The Pig’s Can Fly Tour runs until the beginning of June and it’s not a tour you want to miss! Playing all their classic hits, and many more from their album as well as some new songs, they have a flying pig in the audience and audience members on stage with pig masks on making up the pig sty!
Mcfly
And in the audience of Busted’s first night on tour were ex band mates and good Friends Mcfly! Having a hiatus after McBusted, they are rejoining as Mcfly for a tour they are calling Anthology. They will be performing in smaller venues than their arena tours and performing tracks from all three of their albums to go back to the roots of Mcfly and celebrate their return. The band has also announced this tour is the catalyst for what’s to come – which could mean new music!
Union J
With a new band member Union J plan to go on tour in September, but will ex Sterokicks singer Casey Johnson feel the pressure of filling George Shelly’s popular shoes? Well he has already received some back lash from The Wanted’s Nathan Sykes, who says Union J could do better and that if his band mates had replaced him when we went solo, he would find someone better!
Jake Quickenden
I’m a Celebrity runner up Jake Quickenden embarks on his first ever tour this year called New Chapter, which is to support his current EP with the same name. Performing on dates in the UK over September and October he will be in London on 8th October. Jake was live on That Friday Feeling back in March and talked about his new music and the tour so if you want to hear more details check that out here: https://bit.ly/1ZdUEhT
Gabrielle
Gabrielle is doing a UK tour in October and November, performing all her greatest hits with a stripped back band. Tickets are currently on sale and she will be close to home in Southend on 4th November as well as in London on Sunday 6th November.
Matt Cardle
X Factor winner of the 7th series, Matt Cardle may not have done as well as some X Factor contestants, but to be the honest the winners don’t seem to do as well as the runners up! But Matt has had a few singles including a collaboration with Mel C and now he has a UK tour throughout June and July this summer, starting it all off in Shoreditch! He also has an upcoming album for next year called Higher Power.
