Space burst out of Liverpool in the mid-90s with hits including Female of the Species, Neighbourhood, Avenging Angels and many more. After two hit albums, Spiders and Tin Planet, personal and record label issues saw the band withdraw from the public eye, but last year they returned with a bang with their first new album in a decade, Attack of the Mutant 50ft Kebab, accompanied by a UK tour alongside fellow 90s hitmakers Republica. A follow-up album is currently in the works and the first fruits of new Space material will be arriving next month in the form of new single Strange World.
Space singer Tommy Scott recently visited the Phoenix FM studio to chat to Nick Field about Space’s past, present and future, and play some tracks, both old and new, live in the studio. Click below to listen to the interview and see him playing live!
