Ah, the Christmas songs are coming out, and the obvious first choice from the 80’s is “Last Christmas” from Wham! Although we did ROCK OUT this week with ADCD, Aerosmith and Guns ‘N’ Roses!
News this week in the 80’s:
1982: The gates isolating the people of Gibraltar from Spain were opened to pedestrians after 13 years.
Spain’s new socialist government opened the frontier for “humanitarian reasons” at one minute after midnight on the 15th December 1982.
1989 – The first episode of television series The Simpsons, “Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire”, airs in the United States, since then the show has broadcast 561 episodes.
Matt Groening created a dysfunctional family and named the characters after members of his own family, substituting Bart for his own name!
