On this morning’s show, Peter from Saint Francis Hospice joined me live in the studio to give us an update of what they are up to over the next month. The main event happening is Hospice Care Week.
Peter has summarised what we talked about below:
Monday 6th October – Friday 10th October is Hospice Care Week.
Hospice Care Week is a chance for all of the hospices in the UK to join together and promote the work they do and raise awareness of hospice care.
This year the week will focus on the many ways and places that hospice care is provided. It’s summed up by this year’s slogan: Hospice care everywhere! At Saint Francis Hospice, 85% of the patients we care for are looked after in their own home or care home.
During the week Saint Francis Hospice will have information stands at King George’s Hospital, Goodmayes, on Wednesday 8th October and Queen’s Hospital, Romford, on Thursday 9th October and will also be holding a special bumper prize of £10,000 in their lottery draw to be made on Friday October 10th.
Also one supporter, Mark Cole, from Upminster, will be running heritage buses through Havering on Saturday 11th. They will run usual bus routes but instead of a charge to use them they will be asking for voluntary donations to Saint Francis Hospice.
Details for all of these events is on www.sfh.org.uk
