On today’s show we heard why working in the weather centre in North Korea might not be such a good idea right now.

Just like weather forecasters everywhere they don’t always get it right. Maybe the budget doesn’t stretch to buying some new seaweed but  whatever the reason, forecasters there have just endured a real “dressing down” from the “brilliant comrade” and “dear leader” who told them to improve their forecasts without delay.

Noting that the army will never pardon those who disobey the orders of the supreme commander, I guess that the laundry bill for officials working there just went up tenfold!

Moving on from one grim reaper to another, on today’s ESSEX TALE, Carl Merry related the story of the 13th Reaper who once worked a field on Mersea Island. The evidence of that time is still there for all to see at the pond, known to this day as THE DEVIL’s DRINK BOWL.
