This week’s show featured a triple bill of live sessions as I was joined in the studio by a trio of singer-songwriter ladies (l-r): Meryl & A Bit of Yellow, Lilac Sheer and Kata Hay, just ahead of their UK tour together.

Kata Hay grew up in Oklahoma before moving to her current base of Tennessee. She has been singing on stage since the tender age of two and won her first talent competition aged just five – and it’s fair to say she hasn’t looked back since. Kata has just released a compilation of old and new material on iTunes to tie in with the UK tour, which sees her headlining shows in London, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff and Colchester – for the full list and to hear more from Kata, head to www.katahay.com.

Meryl & A Bit of Yellow, aka Dutch singer Merel van der Wielen, is joining Kata on the tour and Meryl also treated us to a few tracks on the show. She has recently released her debut EP, Chance, which can be previewed and ordered from her website www.merylandabitofyellow.nl.

Finally it was the turn of the other third of the tour, Lilac Sheer, who originally hails from Israel but is now based in London. She has just released a new single, Love is Always Free, which is taken from her album A Different Country which will be released later in the year, but you can hear a few tracks from it now at her website www.lilacsheer.com.
