Another busy one tonight.  First up was Olaf Stando, back for his third appearance on Curveballs, this time with tracks from his new EP Horizons in tow, as well as more previously unheard tracks in a new acoustic session (click below to see him playing live in the studio!). The EP is available on iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and plenty more outlets, and Olaf can next be seen locally at Chelmsford’s Triangle Club on October 26^th, Camden’s Fiddler’s Elbow on the 29^th, and he returns to Brentwood on November 22^nd with a set at the Hermit – find out more at www.olafstandomusic.com.

Then it was the return of James, Mikey and Joe from Canvey Island’s The Ends, just ahead of their latest gig at The Edge in Basildon. Since we last spoke to them at Brentwood Festival in July, the energetic foursome (also featuring guitarist Liam) have had a busy few months of gigs, record deals and recording new material with The Enemy’s Tom Clark. Their new single Blank Maps is released on CD and download this Monday (21^st), and there are plenty more new tracks to come, some of which were played exclusively on tonight’s show. With a gig in Brighton followed by a homecoming show at Canvey’s Oysterfleet Hotel booked for next month, The Ends are definitely a name to be looking out for over the next few months.
