Alex’s Disturbance
Troubles between local star Chantelle Houghton and her fiancée and cage fighter Alex Reid have been admitted by both parties recently, with Chantelle being spotted without her engagement ring and Alex considering splitting the relationship up, and it seems like it may all be getting too much for him as he was arrested this week following a “disturbance” at the home he shares with Chantelle. Alex was taken into custody on suspicion of causing criminal damage and using violence to secure entry at the couple’s residence in Essex at 1.30am.
Chantelle gave birth to their daughter called Dolly, back in June and Alex has mentioned in interviews that they still intend on getting married in the future.
There’s only One Direction
X-Factor band, One direction, have been having a court battle with a US band with the same name. But thankfully it was settled this week with “both parties pleased with the resolution and wish each other success.” As the joint statement sates.
This all started in April when the American Group sued our UK’s group for $1million in damages plus royalties. Their Lawyer had explained the situation saying “Rather than change their name or do anything to create confusion or avoid damage to our goodwill, they chose to press ahead and come on their tour.”
“We’ve been in negotiations for a month to find a resolution. In our view, the negotiations weren’t turning out to be very productive.”
However, after this Simon Cowell’s record label SyCo later counter-sued and the outcome is now that the UK band get to keep their name while The California band will now be known as ‘Uncharted Shores’.
Romeo got what he Wanted
There’s many benefits to being a child of a celebrity, you must be quite rich, and popular but also get any present you wish for and Romeo Beckham certainly wasn’t disappointed when boy band The Wanted performed at his 10th Birthday party last Saturday. Apparently it wasn’t too difficult for Romeo’s mum who of Course is Posh spice Victoria Beckham, to get hold of the band as she has ‘some handy connections with the band’ says a source who then carried on to say “The lads are in the States anyway preparing for the MTV VMAS on Thursday and were happy to pop over.
“They met all Romeo’s pals and posed for snaps. It’s the easiest gig they’ve ever had.”
Victoria then took to twitter to show her thanks tweeting : “The @thewantedmusic boys, the coolest boys in music!!! Thank you for making Romeo’s 10th birthday so special!!!! X vb.”
Lead singer of the band Max George replied saying: “thanks for a lovely day yesterday … Hope Romeo had the best birthday ever! X.”
Paralympic Performances
The closing ceremony for the Olympics was amazing and now we have another special event to look forward to and that is the London 2012 Paralympics games closing ceremony.
It’s been confirmed that Coldplay will be performing on the 9th September and it’s been rumoured Rihanna will join them on the stage to perform their collaboration ‘Princess of China’.
Apparently it has also been revealed that front man of Cold Play, Chris Martin has convinced rapper Jay-Z to perform at the event as well. A source has said “It’s going to be one hell of a show, and fans of both artists will be clamouring for tickets.”
They continued: “The Paralympics has exceeded all expectation and, like the rest of the world, Jay-Z has been blown away by [the competitors’] bravery and athleticism.
“This will be a concert like no other, and a fantastic end to what has been the most successful Paralympics ever.”
Chris Martin seems to agree and has showed how privilege he feels to be part of it as he has previously said it is “a great honour” to perform at the Paralympics closing ceremony, adding he hopes they can “try and create a performance… that will close London 2012 in style”.
