This weekend saw the 24-hour music marathon of CREATIVE SESSIONS involving two dozen local bands performing live at the BRENTWOOD CENTRE. I was fortunate enough to be joined by local boy band, THE FELONIE who came in for a chat and performed a couple of live acoustic sets. The Felonie have been in being for about 2 years. Lead guitarist Greg, front man, Alex and bassist, Jamie (the son of Phoenix FM’s very own Bob Simpson) are all 18 with percussionist/drummer, Ross the baby of the group at 17. Whilst the interview and main session can all be heard on our special CREATIVE SESSIONS page, you can also hear this interview and acoustic set here: -[audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/The-Felonie.mp3|titles=The Felonie]
In the second hour of the show, Frances Clamp popped in for our BRENTWOOD & BILLERICAY BYGONES FEATURE to talk about the NEOLITHIC houses unearthed close to NEVENDON discovered in 2009. You can listen again to what Frances had to say here: -[audio:https://www.phoenixfm.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/05/Bygones-15th-May.mp3|titles=Bygones 15th May]
Well that wraps it up for another week. Hope you can join me on either Monday or Tuesday at 2pm for THE TWO O’CLOCK SHOW, but failing that I’ll be back for an extended PACKED LUNCH SHOW next Saturday at noon when I’ll be with you for 3 hours. Frances Clamp will be joining me at about half past one, to talk about Brentwood’s long defunct ELECTRIC PICTURE PALACE. In the meantime it looks as though the weather should be improving next week so get on out there if you can and enjoy!
All the best,
Scott
