As none of the top two sides in the Ryman Premier League were playing on Saturday, Billericay made the most of it and went back to the top of the league after beating Wingate 2-0.
As for Brentwood they lost 1-0 against a resiliant Enfield in front of a crowd close to 500 at the QEII Stadium. Brentwood even missed the chance to score from the spot as Dave Kendall was sent-off for Enfield and Brentwood missed the subsequent penalty.
Southend climbed to the top of the League Two on goal difference as they won 5-2 away at Northampton.
