Julia wins Open Mic night at local school, and sings live on Sunday Breakfast!

Local youngster Julia Pallace, a Year 7 student at Brentwood County High School took part in the school’s first Open Mic night competition. Musicians from ages 11 to 16 took part by singing and performing songs and music of varying styles. The standard was so high that Miss Tori Kingston, BCHS’s acting Head of Drama admitted to it being an almost impossible job to judge the evening to find the top 3 performances.

However, there had to be a winner, and in the number one position was Julia with her version of the song ” One and Only ” by Adele. Julia and her Mum, Sharon were this week’s guests on Sunday Breakfast, with a live performance of the winning song too. And as it was Father’s Day, Julia dedicated her singing to her dad, Dean, and brother Josh.

Tune into Phoenix FM Sunday Breakfast over the summer to hear more live music from the Brentwood County High School musicians. Watch the website to see who will be on when, and if you go at any of the schools in our broadcast area, why not ask your teachers if you can organise an Open Mic event with them, and then you too may get the chance to sing/play live on your local radio station.
