This coming Friday, from late evening you will see a group of volunteers from local churches out in the Brentwood High Street area. Our new Street Pastors are there to help you stay safe, and to deal with any issues that might arise. They are working alongside other official agencies such as the Council and emergency services to contribute to everyone’s wellbeing in the community.
Groups like The Brentwood Street Pastors already are visible in many other town centres in the UK, including Chelmsford, where you may have seen them.
Peter Jordan, the Minister at Sawyers Church in Brentwood has co-ordinated the new group who will be commissioned at a service on Friday evening joined us for Summer Breakfast this morning to talk us through how and why the group was formed and what we can expect from our new street pastors.
You can find out more at www.streetpastors.org.uk and you can offer to help out if you like too, by emailing Peter and his team at brentwood@streetpastors.org.uk
