Kate Middleton’s Dress
Back in 2002 Kate Middleton first caught the eye of Prince William at a charity fashion show at Saint Andrews University in Scotland. She was walking down the run way wearing a knitted transparent black dress, which has recently been sold for £78,000 in an auction on Thursday.

The buyer was a man who has refused to give his name but has said he bought it on behalf of someone he would identify only as “Nick from Jersey”.
The sale far exceeded the initial estimate of £10,000 by Kerry Taylor Auctions, as the dress only cost £30 to make! The auctioneer, said: “The sale did fantastically well and went above expectations throughout. I am delighted that the dress made a ‘princely sum’.”

The strapless dress was designed by Charlotte Todd, who was a fashion and textile design student in 2000 at the University of the West of England when she produced it for a project entitled “The Art of Seduction”.
She has said “I am totally speechless, and feel very emotional. I really didn’t think it would make that amount. I am planning to put some of the money towards a deposit for a house, but perhaps I may use some to change my career.”

Rihanna, Taylor and Selena wants to pay for tap water
UNICEF’s Tap Project urges restaurant owners to start charging 63p for tap water to help fund clean drinking fluid around the world.

Rihanna, Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez are backing this campaign. In one of the posters advertising the scheme Rihanna poses next to a bottle of her personalised drink with the words, “Rihanna Tap Water. Not your typical tap water, unless of course, you live next door to Rihanna.”
And fans who donate money to the cause will then get the chance to win a special drink – a bottle of water filled from taps at the stars’ homes.

A message on the UNICEF Celebrity Tap website reads, “Celebrities have donated their own tap water to help raise awareness of the world water crisis. Donations enter individuals in our sweepstakes to win an esteemed collection of these famous tap waters.”

So if you want to back this campaign or just want to win a bottle of water from either Rihanna, Taylor or Selena then log onto www.unicef.org

Dougie leaves rehab
Mcfly fans will be happy to know that bass player  Dougie Poynter has checked out of rehab which he means he will be at McFly’s UK arena tour.

Dougie rehab two weeks after having a tough break-up with ex-girlfriend Frankie Sandford, from The Saturdays. She had reportedly ended her on/off two year relationship and a friend of the star has said ‘Dougie is devastated. He didn’t see it coming at all and still doesn’t know why.

‘They were planning to settle down and were actually house hunting. It’s the second time Frankie has done this after she dumped him in February but came back in tears and said she made a mistake.’

When Dougie got home he took the opportunity to write to his fans on Twitter saying “Got home last night and read all your messages. Thanks for all your support, really means allot x”

He will now join his fellow McFly bandmates for their upcoming tour, which is due to start March 18 at Sheffield Arena. The band recently revealed that they are to wear superhero costumes as part of their show.

Good role modal
Many artists are looked up to as role modals by their fans however they are not always considered to be a good one. Current singer Alexis Jordan, who’s mentor is none other than Jay Z, has revealed that she wants to be a good role model for her younger fans.
She has said “I would love to be a positive role model for girls. It’s a big goal and you can’t do it overnight but if I make mistakes along the way it’s ’cause I’m growing up.”

She has recently realised her single ‘Good girl’ but it sounds like she will soon be releasing more singles from her latest album as she added “I feel there are better songs to come.”

Matt Cardle creates X-factor History
It has been reported than Essex singer Matt Cardle has become the first X Factor  winner who has signed a joint deal. Usually the winners sign to Simon Cowell and his Syco label however Matt has signed a 50/50 deal with both Syco and Columbia – who have artists such as Kasabian and the Kings of Leon.

A source has said “It’s very unusual for Simon to give up control on projects he really believes in. But even he knows where his limits lie. He’s hopeful Matt can become the first credible rock act to emerge from The X Factor and realises he needs [the] expertise at Columbia to make that happen.”
The insider continued: “Simon has always closely guarded the careers of previous X Factorwinners including Leona Lewis and Joe McElderry. They were 100 per cent signed to his label Syco but Matt will be a 50/50 venture with Columbia.”

Cardle’s spokesperson confirmed the news, adding: “Matt has signed a joint record deal across both Columbia and Syco Music. His debut album will be released as a joint venture between both Sony labels, with Simon Cowell remaining very much involved in the release later this year.”

Delayed album
Kelly Clarkson’s follow up album from 2009’s ‘All I Ever Wanted’ has been delayed until September even though it was scheduled for release earlier this year.

She wrote on her Facebook page: “I recently found out that my album won’t be coming out until September. The album has been recorded, but I can’t release it until then. I realise that is a long time, but that’s the best time to release it apparently so I’m sorry for the wait, but I promise you it sounds great!”

She has recently also revealed that the genre will be a bit different to what we are used to as this album has a bit of a country music feel to it and has been influenced by a varied range of artists. She said: “It is influenced by Prince, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Radiohead and there’s a little bit of a Country vibe/influence on a couple of songs.”

Tips for dancers
Pussy Cat Doll star and Got to Dance judge Kimberly Wyatt has given dancers some tips to be successful.

She has said: “You have to be brave as a dancer, to try new things and tricks and be flexible – you have to be prepared to fall on your bottom or your head.
It’s happened to me a lot and it happens to dancers all through their careers. I’m lucky in that I have a background in gymnastics, which helps, but show business is live and anything can happen.”

She added: “Younger performers shouldn’t worry about it. You have to shrug off mistakes you make and get on with it – everyone expects dancers to fall over.
I fell over a lot learning what became my signature dance move – the standing leg-split… You just have to get back up and brush it off in this business – onwards and upwards.”
