On the 11th June I played out my interview with lovely Denise and Doris from the UK’s answer to the Jackson 5 – FIVE STAR!

Five Star – Stedman, Lorraine, Denise, Doris and Delroy Pearson burst onto the 80’s music scene with their platinum selling 1985 debut album “Luxury of Life”. They were managed by their father, renowned Pop/R&B musician Buster Pearson.

I asked the girls from the band if they had great memories from those early times, or did it all just whizz by in a blur? Denise told me that they had very fond memories, and remembered the great fashions and dance routines that they became famous for.

Five Star were so successful in the 80’s, and have continued to be so in the music industry, either as a trio, Denise as a solo artist, and Delroy in music production. I asked how they got the band back together and Denise & Doris explained that at family events they would always talk about the good old times, maybe sing a song or two and gradually it became obvious that they had to get back to performing together. Denise also told me that they are planning a tour in 2016/17.

It was fabulous to relive the memories with the girls, they were absolutely lovely. Five Star are appearing at the Let’s Rock Festivals over the next few months, with the nearest to us being London on 27th June. More info from www.letsrocklondon.com
