French Open Final Weekend

This weekend on Between the Lines Aaron Heanue kept an eye on Andy Murray’s semi final in the French Open tennis, running into its 2nd day. We brought the news that Novak Djokovic won, with domination in the final set. In addition Ronnie O’Sullivan gave his views on Murray’s ability to move on from this defeat, likening the situation to Lewis Hamilton’s loss of the Monaco Grand Prix and the fact this is the number one priority in any individual sport.

We had plenty to keep us busy, looking ahead to two big events in Canada with the Women’s football World Cup, in a week where events off the pitch had been making headlines. We also looked to this weekend’s Canadian Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton looking favourite going before qualifying. We also mentioned the penultimate round of the Formula E championship in Moscow, with the final round in London’s Battersea Park at the end of the month.

Aaron also previewed the Champions League Final and news of the Epsom Derby. We also took our regular summer look at the transfer news of the past few days.

Locally we updated the news on a busy week for Brentwood Town and Barry Corr leaving Southend United.
