Last week was of course Christmas eve and on In The Mix we counted down the Christmas number one songs since 1990, and as announced on Christmas Day this year’s Number one was The Military Wives Choir.
A source has revealed an album might be on the way as they explained “The single has been such an amazing success that an album is an obvious next step,”
“The main difficulty will be getting all the women together to record it because their husbands’ jobs mean they move around a lot.”
And the choir seem to be up for it as member Sam Stephenson confirmed saying “We would love to do an album – that would be fantastic,”.
However though there might be success for The Military Wives, one competitor, Little Mix, seem to be going in the opposite direction
Little Mix are the third X Factor-winner after Steve Brookstien and Joe McElderry to miss out on the Christmas number one.
Little Mix’s debut single ‘Cannonball’ achieved the lowest first-week sales for an X Factor winner’s single since ‘Against All Odds’ by Brookstein in 2004, as they sold shifted 210,000 copies of their track over seven days and although that seems a lot, when you compare it to the 556,000 copies sold of the Christmas number one in 2008, it seems a bit small.
Cannonball, did not only lose out on the Christmas top spot but have now been named as the UK’s least wanted Christmas gift on the British Heart Foundation poll which was looking for the most disappointing present to open on December 25th.

Amazon has recently revealed that this year boy band 1 Direction’s 2012 calendar has been the bestselling calendar beating this year Cheryl Cole, Cliff Richard and fellow X-factor band JLS.
Books manager Darren Hardy has talked about 1 Directions popularity by saying “There will certainly be many homes and offices across the UK and Ireland that will feature images of One Direction throughout 2012,” “One Direction have had a busy first year with their album ‘Up All Night’ and biography ‘Dare to Dream: Life As One Direction’ proving to be big hits and their calendar is obviously high on their fans’ Christmas Wish Lists as well.”

Panto’s
Celebs are taking part in pantos this year.
Baywatch star and Britain’s got talent judge David Hasselhoff will be starring as captain hook, in one of my fav films, Peter Pan. It is taking place at the Bristol Hippodrome and can be seen until the 8th of January.

Dame Edna Everage makes her pantomime debut this Christmas, playing the ‘Saviour of London in Dick Wittington at the New Wimbledon Theatre, playing until the 15th of January.

Jedward and the Beanstalk takes place at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin until the 8th January, The mad twins Jedward take lead in this version of their favourite fairytale.

And finally a nearly all star cast, minus a few, in Snow white and the 7 dwarves, Patsy Kensit plays the Wicked Queen, with I’d Do Anything Finalist Sarah Lark as the princess. And children’s TV presenter Barney Harwood also performs as Muddles.

Celeb New Year Revolutions
TOWIE star James Argent will start new diet regime in January to help with his resolution if loosing weight, he has said .”My New Year’s resolution is the same as it is every year – to lose as much weight as possible,”
“I’m going to enjoy myself over Christmas, no point in saying no to all that lovely food. I’ll just cut out bad habits on New Year.”
On the contrary, Jessie J has revealed that her New Year’s resolution is to gain more weight she has said “it’s important to know when you need to gain weight, or when you need to lose weight and be healthy”,
She also wants “to make a difference in the world” and she will do this by shaving her head for charity. As she has said “I’m shaving my head next year for charity – it’s definitely happening if I raise a million, which I think I will. “I’ve spoken to a few celebrities who are interested too. I’m quite excited at getting rid of the bob.
She will also be working with David Guetta in 2012 to produce her next album and is planning to do a “bigger tour” of the UK
Chantelle Houghton’s New Year’s resolution along with partner Alex Reid is “To be brilliant parents! She explained more by saying “Getting pregnant was my highlight! I didn’t even think it was possible. It’s made us stronger. I can’t wait to buy more baby clothes! I want to know the sex of the baby so I can plan the wardrobe!”
When Jordy Lucas who plays Summer Holland in Australian soap, Neighbours, was talking about moving in with co star Ashleigh Brewer, who plays Kate Ramsey she said “I’m not a grubby person but [leave] clothes everywhere, that sort of stuff. I think that should be my resolution: keep my room a bit cleaner.”
She has also teased about the story lines for her character next year saying “2012 will be when Summer really comes into her own, and lets just say that at times she may be single when this happens. I can’t say any more but it’s going to be interesting.”
