The Breakfast Show – Monday 04/11

I’m standing in for Emma this week on the show, and today I started off by having a look through the papers which included the new Michael Jackson statue erected at Fulham FC’s football club. ‘Go to hell, or go to Chelsea.’ Thankfully he gave us a choice. I spoke about the decline of Neighbours and how the return of ‘Charlene’ aka Kylie Minogue would fix this, and apparently we all want to work past the age of 65. Thanks for letting me know but… no.

Local Sport

For the second successive week Brentwood stuttered in their quest to secure a play-off place as the nine men of Maldon & Tiptree hung on to give their own play-off hopes a much-needed boost.
It was a disappointing afternoon for Brentwood who failed to create enough chances to win the game even when the visitors had Rob Blackburn and Ollie Berquez red-carded in the second half, both for second yellows. Final Score: Brentwood Town 1 – Maldon & Tiptree 2

A Tony Boot goal on the stroke of half time captured a point for the Blues. James Everitt had given the home side the lead halfway thru the first half. That point leaves the Blues just outside the play-off zone just 3 points off Harrow Borough in 3rd. Final Score: Folkstone Invicta 1 – Billericay Town 1

And today was the first edition of ‘The World according to my Girlfriend’. Today’s topic of conversation… Animals. Take a listen.
