Every Sunday from 10am we will be promoting local and unsigned artists from our open mic night which takes place Monday nights at The Essex Arms in Brentwood from 8pm.
This week i’m dedicating this Show to Paula Allibon
Paula had been attending our open mic nights at the Essex Arms ever since Jon Good started them in 2017. Although she wasn’t a singer herself, she became a tremendous support to many of the aspiring singers and songwriters who performed. Paula rarely missed a Monday night and became an integral part of what we affectionately call the Open Mic family.
Sadly, on Tuesday this week (21/05/24), Paula passed away after a very brief battle with terminal cancer. She will be greatly missed by everyone. Our thoughts are with her family and friends during this difficult time.
Today’s radio show features as many past and present open mic singers as possible, as this is the music Paula came to enjoy. It seems fitting to play these songs in her honour, on behalf of all the singers and songwriters who knew and appreciated her support.
