Coronation Festival in the Park – 8th May 12pm – 5pm King George’s Play Fields

Delighted to be joined by Father Mark North of St Thomas of Canterbury Brentwood and Graham Clegg, Deputy Lord Lieutenant who came in to tell us all about the fantastic event, Coronation Festival in the Park – taking place on 8th May between 12pm – 5pm at King George’s Play Fields.

I will be hosting the event on the main stage and look forward to seeing as many of you there as possible to celebrate.

Bring your picnic blankets, chairs and get ready for a family day full of fun and music!
Brentwood Borough Council has revealed details of an exciting line up of entertainment and activities to celebrate the historic coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.
Taking place at King George’s Playing Fields on Monday 8 May from 12 – 5pm, our Coronation Festival will bring communities together in volunteering initiatives and hopes to create a legacy from the Coronation weekend.
There will be a jam-packed schedule of entertainment for the day including Brentwood Imperial Youth band and St Thomas’ Church Mass Choir. There will also be a range of free sports to try, a skate competition, a parade, free family activities and for those wishing to indulge, an array of food and drink to purchase. Brentwood Brewery are selling their very own Coronation beer and there will be Pimm’s and prosecco supplied by the Rotary club of Brentwood.
The festivities will showcase Brentwood’s strong sense of community and many groups will be in attendance. From uniform groups to local charities and the voluntary sector, all coming together to celebrate and mark the King’s Coronation.
Thank you to our sponsors Rainer Hughes Solicitors who will have a stand with games and giveaways, Bennetts Funerals for providing their horse and carriage that will be transporting the Mayor of Brentwood, Baker Labels and The National Lottery Community Fund for their contribution.
A commemorative programme will be available on the day. There will be free parking onsite and at all Brentwood Council owned car parks across the borough on Monday 8 May. Please walk or cycle to the event if possible.
