‘harakiri’ will be released and added to the HAPPYSEXYLOVEPOTION EP on October 7th. Already gaining traction via Topsify UK’s alternative Spotify playlist, from music blogs such as Pinch of Sol, Earmilk and Iggy Magazine, as well as from radio (Spark Sunderland, Belter Radio, Frome FM and All FM Radio), the BBC Radio London Regular is back.

‘harakiri is an uncommon afrobeat-pop-bop. Hypnotic vocals are matched by cathartic, echoing sax with vocal samples and a singing-bowl-sounding chorus – “tired i’m so tired i’m so salty, so sad, i’m so mad, i don’t know why, thought i loved my life, i don’t know why, i’m so tired”

sky says “when I wrote harakiri I had everything going for me, girlfriend, job, friends, health, my music and I felt empty. I felt tired. I felt exhausted. I felt alone. I felt overworked. I felt unfulfilled. I didn’t even enjoy writing the song, it felt mechanical like “oh yeah I do this, here i am again, just another song”.

“It’s the feeling when you are pouring your energy into something and you don’t feel like you are getting what you want back. I realised that everything in my world was actually far from perfect and I was coming into a new chapter of my life. I think everyone can relate to that. It’s not just about how things look on the surface. Only you know how things really are. And when you’re knackered and unsatisfied, you feel pretty harakiri..

The third video in the HAPPYSEXYLOVEPOTION series documents the story of a weird and wistful character finding his way amongst the pigeons and the cash machines of East London, in search of the life he lost somewhere. Will he eventually find the green light he was searching for? We can only hope.
