UPDATE 4th JUNE 2021
The month of May has been a busy one for Curve Foundation. At the start of the month we launched our Miles over Mind campaign – where we were encouraging our Curve Community to walk 100K in May as part of National Walking Month. We had a brilliant response and our staff member Rebecca and Trustee, Taylor both eagerly took up the challenge. We also had local Personal Trainer, Natalie Russel from Nats PT who amazingly recruited a team of 30 walkers to complete the 100 K and not forgetting The Springfield Cricket Club Wags Team who also took part. The response was absolutely fantastic. Participants taking part could walk, run, scoot, jog, hop, skip or jump either individually or as a small team and share the miles. It has been a brilliant month and we would like to thank everyone who has taken part and everyone who has sponsored those walking. We are very pleased to announce that we raised a grand total of £2207. Absolutely amazing.
This May, we are very excited to launch Miles over Mind, an exciting campaign where we ask members of the Curve Foundation community to join us in walking, running, cycling, or scooting 100k throughout May as it is National Walking Month.
May is also Teenage ‘Self Esteem’ awareness month. in the UK, 79% of young people say how they look is very important to them, 52% worry about the way they look, 35% say they ‘often’ or ‘always’ worry about their body image (Statistics from Beat, eating disorder charity.) We are asking members of the Curve Foundation community to walk 100k in May to raise awareness of ‘Self Esteem’ in children and young people and raise sponsorship for Curve Foundation. As you know, fundraising has been challenging during the past year with the Covid–19 pandemic, so any monies raised in sponsorship would be gratefully received.
You can either complete the 100k on your own or split the distance by walking in groups of up to 5, as a double act or with your children, grandchildren, even the dog!
So get ready to wash down your walking boots, revise your route and get that spring in your step to join us for Miles over Mind this May.
