Last December, hundreds of Santas, elves and reindeers stepped into the Christmas magic to take part in Saint Francis Hospice’s Festive Fun Run.
But with this year being so ho ho different, the Hospice is calling on everyone to take part in its virtual Jingle Bell Jog.
And while people are getting fit and having fun, they’ll be helping local people who need experienced end of life care.
Here’s the best bit about the Jingle Bell Jog – you get to choose the date, the time and the distance and the challenge!
We’ve all spent too long indoors and with Christmas approaching, this is the perfect way to keep active over the winter months,” said Sarah Williamson, Head of Fundraising at the charity.
Our Festive Fun Runs have always been a special date in the diary for our wonderful supporters and we’re excited that our virtual Jingle Bell Jog means even more people can join in the action.
We’re also hoping our supporters will dress up before they hit the streets and help spread the festive cheer as they pass residents and motorists.”
The Hospice has continued to provide frontline care throughout the pandemic and it has seen a significant rise in demand for its community services.
But with only 27% of its income coming from the NHS, the charity relies heavily on donations to cover its running costs.
The pandemic has had a devastating impact on our income but we’re helping more people than ever,” said Sarah.
So whatever people’s motivations for signing up for this challenge, let the Hospice be one of them so we can be there for people who desperately need Hospice care!”
