The Book Club with Sylvia Kent & Writer Ted Bailey

Michelle Ward was joined in the studio by writer and journalist, Sylvia Kent for this months book club along with guest writer, Ted Bailey.

INTERVIEW

Ted Bailey was born in Brentwood, Essex during the Blitz. He initially worked in London schools and the Essex Youth and Adult Service. For over twenty years he trained teachers in the higher education sector, completed a Doctorate and has had articles published in relevant journals.

A long standing love of history and its reach into contemporary society is what led to him exploring his grandfather Frank’s military life and the writing of this book:  A Major Soldier, Reveille Press. Contact for further information:

Survival and Love: Double Escape from the Nazis, Grosvenor House Publishing

He encountered the basic facts of Lizzy and Jerzy’s wartime experiences by sheer coincidence. Based on recorded interviews conducted with both protagonists many years ago he has pieced together their relative stories and set them into the wider historical context. It is important that we remember these events as a lesson for the future.
