What a busy month September seemed to be. But if you ask me what I got up to, I probably couldn’t tell you!
What I can tell you are the 10 songs that I played over the 5 Sunday mornings that were specifically designed to soothe you, my dear listeners.
They were –
Terry Hall – Take It Forever
Diana Ross & Lionel Richie – Endless Love
Cousteau – She Don’t Hear Your Prayer
Sia – Breath Me
The Beautiful South – A Little Time
My Life Story – The One
Carole King – So Far Away
Spandau Ballet – True
Sam Smith – Lay Me Down
Goldfrapp – A&E
And my chosen video this week. It could only be the brilliant A Little Time by The Beautiful South, a video about a break up with a sense of humour.
Taken from the bands second album Choke, this was their only single to reach the number 1 spot, (they had reached number 2 with their debut single Song For Whoever and repeated that with 1998’s Perfect Ten). Their greatest hits album “Carry On Up The Charts” was a major success for the band, reaching 6*Platinum certification in the UK, and it’s believed that 1 in 7 households owned a copy at one point!
The group broke up in January 2007, claiming the split was due to “musical similarities”
