Healthwatch Essex – study into mental health of young people

Michelle Ward was joined in the studio by Hannah Fletcher from Healthwatch Essex to talk about the recent study into mental health of young people.  We know that young people from
these groups often have a poorer experience of the health and care services they use and therefore their lived experience is key in improving existing services or creating new ones.
Across our three YEAH! and two SWEET! reports, young people have consistently told us that mental health is an area of largest concern in their health and care priorities.

Healthwatch Essex

Healthwatch Essex is an independent voice for the people of Essex. We gather and represent your views about health and care services in the county to help improve them.

Good or bad, we’d like to hear your views on the care you receive in Essex. We undertake high-quality academic research and public engagement to uncover your lived experience of services.

We also help people to find out about, access and navigate health and social care services through our Information Service.  You can share your experience or ask questions by calling us on 0300 500 1895.

You can also use this website to rate, review and improve services for your local community. Visit our Feedback Centre now!

Would you like to get involved?

Our volunteers, known as Ambassadors, are our ‘eyes and ears’ in communities across Essex. If you’d like to help us gather people’s lived experience of services, sign up to become an Ambassador.
