Michelle Ward was joined in the studio by Brentwood Council Leader, Chris Hossack, for this months update.

INTERVIEW [mixcloud https://www.mixcloud.com/Orangeblossom/brentwood-council-leader-chris-hossack-july-updates/ width=100% height=120 hide_cover=1 light=1]

Topics Covered: – Boris or Hunt, who will be the next Conservative Leader, Brexit. You can skip forward 5 minutes to where Chris talks solely about Brentwood, Litter, Uber, Supporting Local Business, Chapel Ruin Enhancements, Brentwood High Street, William Hunter Way, Wilsons Corner, Crossing at Ongar Road, Local Development Plan,  PRED pushing Green Initiatives and Travel Incursion Training.

During the interview a message came in from Gail, a volunteer in Brentwood, who asked the following:-

I think the council do a good job trying to keep Brentwood free from litter however I don’t think they do enough to stop people littering in the first place so make sure children are educated and heavier fines for people caught littering. We pay a lot in taxes to clear up and it’s soul destroying as a local volunteer litter picker to constantly be picking up other people’s litter thrown out of windows is the main concern and a big area is off the A127 exit onto the road by the Kiln Hotel is awful – not a great welcome to Brentwood – please can any council grass cutters litter pick the area before cutting grass filled with litter as it just chops all the litter into thousands of pieces of rubbish.

Swift action was taking by Chris and the Depot Team to clean up the area (within a few hours).
