1988 – Jaguar unveils its new Jaguar XJ220 supercar at the Motor Show. It is set go into production in 1990, costing £350,000 and being the world’s fastest production car with a top speed of 220 mph. A total of just 271 cars were produced by the time production ended, each with a retail price of £470,000 in 1992.
